Job description

  • Be our in-house expert for all topics regarding medium and high voltage (substation, wind farm cabling, MV equipment) for our wind turbine generators and their connection to grid and the contact for your colleagues all over the world during engineering, tendering and execution
  • Specify and optimize wind farm MV configuration: step up transformers, optimal cable diameter, cables losses, etc.
  • Specify and optimize project specific substation layouts according to customers and country specific requirements
  • Review customers’ tender documentation and prepare Request for Quotations for electrical works.
  • Review electrical works subcontractors proposals and support Tender Managers on the technical assessment of subcontractors bids.
  • Lead technical negotiations for electrical works with subcontractors and customers.
  • Give technical support to the Project Manager during the project construction phase in relation to electrical issues specific of the project.
  • Develop, improve, simplify and review documents, processes and tools for tendering, engineering and execution of electrical balance of plant works
  • Insure that lesson learned are actively taken into account in future projects.
  • Support purchasing department to build up and maintain a network of designers, equipment suppliers and contractors all over the world
  • Work hand in hand with Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Purchasing and Service

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical or power engineering
  • Several years of experience in technical design and execution of High Voltage infrastructures / systems, preferably in the wind business or comparable turnkey construction projects
  • Experience in calculation of MV networks preferably with PowerFactory®
  • Experience in assessing and implementing electrical and commercial requirements and specifications in contracts with customers and suppliers
  • Ability to work independently, process- and solution-orientated
  • English business fluent. Spanish, German and other languages are an asset
  • Ability to work with different business cultures – mainly in Europe and LATAM
  • Willingness to travel abroad (approx. 20%)
